It is just unnecessary and it will just suck the strength out of me, Fauteux explained. During such a time of adversity, Fauteuxs family kept her grounded. Her mother even quit her job to really take care of Fauteux; her mother was with her every single hospital visit, on an air mattress on the floor. It was never ever a question if I was going to have someone there for me, Fauteux said. I am so thankful that this did happen to me, in the sense of, if it had to happen to someone it happened to somebody that had an amazing support system. Additionally, she has found a great support system in her friends and in her service fraternity Alpha Phi Omega (APO). In the very beginning, I just made it apparent. I am not different. This does not define who I am. I am the same silly person who is way too sarcastic and has stupid jokes. additional readingI expect you guys to treat me the same, Fauteux said. Some people could handle it and some people couldnt. It did kind of show me who my true friends are. Fauteux has been involved with Relay For Life every year, including last year during her treatment.
